Italy has charmed travelers for thousands of years with its abundance of history, culture and art. The boot-shaped peninsula boasts ancient towns, rivers, mountains, vineyards and cliffside villages. Italy has stylish metropolitan cities as well, with every modern luxury, surrounded by an expanse of olive groves and five Western European seas.
Our excursion to Italy begins in the heart of ancient civilization, the “Eternal” city of Rome. We’ll visit breathtaking cathedrals, museums and architectural wonders. And we’ll live like the locals do, with antipastos, espresso and gelato in cozy neighborhood cafes and stone piazzas. |
|
In ROME, we’ll visit the Colluseum, the Vatican Museum, the Roman Forum, and the Trevi Fountain. We'll take day trips to the amazing Etruscan hilltown of Orvieto, and Pompeii, the hauntingly beautiful village buried by Mount Vesuvius’ volcanic fury over 1700 years ago. |
|
Spanning over 100 islands in the Adriatic Sea, the Venetian Empire is connected by Istrian stone bridges with pathways to lavish 13th century palazzos. In VENICE, we’ll ride a gondola through winding canals, visit the Piazza San Marco, Campanile (bell towers), La Fenice Opera House, and enjoy a magnificent Vivaldi concert.

Resting between northern Europe and the Mediterranean region is Bavaria, one of the most picturesque and prosperous parts of Europe. Germany's southernmost federal state, Bavaria is home to hundreds of villages with endless festivals, great beer and lively music.
Bavaria is known for its amazing architecture and countless churches, monasteries, abbeys and castles. We'll take full-day visits to the capital of Bavaria, Munich; the medieval town of Rothenburg; Mozart's birthplace, Salzburg, Austria; Neuschwanstein Castle (pictured left), Garmisch and Germany's highest mountain, Zugspitze. March 27-April 4. See details. |
