Italy has charmed travelers for thousands of years with its abundance of history, culture and art. Our excursion to Italy begins in the heart of ancient civilization, the “Eternal” city of Rome.
In ROME, we’ll visit breathtaking cathedrals, museums and architectural wonders. We'll take day trips to the amazing Etruscan hilltown of Orvieto, and Pompeii, the hauntingly beautiful village buried by Mount Vesuvius' volcanic fury over 1700 years ago. And we’ll live like the locals do, with fresh antipastos, espresso and gelato in cobblestone piazzas and cozy neighborhood trattorias.
Spanning over 100 islands in the Adriatic Sea, the Venetian Empire is connected by Istrian stone bridges with pathways to lavish 13th century palazzos. In VENICE, we’ll take a gondola ride, visit the Piazza San Marco, Campanile (bell towers) and enjoy a magnificent Vivaldi concert. We'll conclude with walks along the canals, and visits to smaller islands where Venetian lace and glass are created.
